It all began about three years ago in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, when Steve Opperman & Steve Dubbeldam had just finished some overseas travelling. They started to get intrigued with the idea of blurring the line between fashion and art, creating wearable art.The name Iron Army was there from the beginning, inspired by a verse in the Bible, Proverbs 27:17 that says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another". The quote is found screened on the inside of their jeans. They began altering jeans, practicing on friends' pairs, until something clicked.
Steve and Steve started with a small quantity production company, then made the big decision to move the production down to Los Angeles. Magazine Feature
